The World Inside
There are many groups that have convened annually over the past ten years or more, for a week or for a long weekend, in places like Harbin, Yellow Springs, Feathered Pipe Ranch, Chapel Hill, Zihuateneno or Villa Shanti in Mexico, in England, Ireland, and Spain. They came together as individuals to experience the teaching of Angela and Victor and they formed bonds that brought them back year after year.

Chapel Hill, 2006

This year, 2008, is the first year in a long time that they will not gather as usual. Angela and Victor will spend most of the year teaching at their Yoga Center in Eftalou, near Molivos on the Greek Island of Lesvos, and will not travel to all the places where they are so well known, respected and loved.

Over the years Angela and Victor's teaching has found new roots in many other people. Many are Yoga teachers in their own right, or in other spritual and creative fields living lives that are ordinary and extraordinary. What they have in common is a connection to the the teaching of Angela and Victor.

In case you cannot make it to Greece this year and would like to take your practice further, here are some of the teachers who  have worked with Angela and Victor over the years and  will be offering workshops.  They may also know of a teacher near your home, or even be willing to travel.

Let's see who they are :

Patricia

Patricia Schneider:   My name is Patricia Schneider, and I am Angela and Victor’s world-wide organizer. I live in Yellow Springs, Ohio and St. John, Virgin Islands.  Chances are if you have attended a Course in Greece, a retreat in Mexico, the Women’s Retreat in Harbin, the UnTrainings in Yellow Springs….or have just been curious about Angela and Victor’s work, we have communicated via phone or email or in person. [Organizer, Yoga Teacher, home: Yellow Springs, OH & St. John, USVI]   More...

Molly

Molly Drake:   I first met Angela & Victor in 1996 when a friend brought them to Chapel Hill, NC for a weekend workshop. Less than half way through the first evening session, I was captivated by their approach to yoga, experiencing a sense of both wonder and delight as I traveled inward to previously undiscovered places of myself. It was an intoxicating, liberating, somewhat scary, very exciting experience. I had always thought of myself as an adventurous person but little did I know that my journey in Yoga and life had just taken a most compelling turn...[Yoga Teacher, home: Chapel Hill, NC]   Web Site

Monika Andreas:  Each time I went to Molivos I had some personal transformational experience. I remember after the long three hour morning class, overlooking the blue waters, that merged with the blue sky and being blissed out from the fabulous openings that Angela's yoga creates. Barbara Voinar

Barbara Voinar:  “Inspiring” such a small word with such great impact for incredible change.  That’s what studying with Angela and Victor is all about, a journey of inspiration; they inspire you to fall in love with your yoga practice as it is unfolding in you.   Unmotivated for you to do it “their” way, they offer a finely honed understanding of yoga which puts their students at ease to explore each asana with inquiry and confidence and spend time in the company of their own inner spirit. Karen Robinson: In 2007, I began organizing workshops for Angela & Victor in Victoria, BC, Canada — what a great pleasure. I first met Angela & Victor when I attended a two week workshop in Eftalou, Greece. My time there was wonderful, inspirational, and transformational. I changed, and yoga changed for me. Their approach made all my years of yoga make sense in a new way. Rigidity fell away and was replaced with a new freedom to explore, feel and unfold. As a teacher, I have taken this new found freedom into my classes and learned how to guide students into new and freer places of their own making. Thank you Angela & Victor! Eliana Baccas: My first class with Victor in the early 90s in Washington, DC changed my life. I felt I had landed in the place I had SO longed to be. My background of certification in Kripalu Yoga had served me for 15 years, but I was hungry to go deeper. After just a short time in Victor's class, I felt I'd found what I was seeking. Several months later I flew to Greece to experience Angela as well. I was completely thrilled with the deep inner work that she and Victor offered together, as I felt places within myself awakening that I had yearned to feel for so many years. From that point on my own teaching and daily practice were transformed. [Yoga Teacher, home: Madison, Wisconsin]   Website

Susanna Kellogg: Meeting Angela and Victor has been one of the greatest gifts, their teaching and who they are I don't have words for but know as so natural and true.  It has been 25 years since I first came to a workshop with them, (with my mother) and they opened a door to a river of sensitivity and awareness from the inside out.  Trusting
that has allowed me to follow my heart and body, and has intimately influenced my work learning from and working with horses.  I have found that being with horses is like being with our own bodies, and with awareness, sensitivity and patience everything unfolds naturally between us. And what is possible then is more than we could have imagined. > Your friends, Sus and Drum, Gitan, and River

Shannon

Shannon McCall:I first met Angela and Victor in 1993 when I hosted them here in Seattle.  I was immediately and forever changed as a practitioner and teacher by the encounter. I was so touched by grace and playfulness, clarity and depth, and clear message of sourcing the yoga from within. Over the years, I have had the great pleasure of seeing them when they come through town,  and we have seen each other in Mexico, and so my studies with them have continued over these nearly 17 years!  I always share with them my current interest in asana, and current teachings.  And while they are always very supportive of my interests, they never fail to gently point me back to myself, encouraging me always to trust my own process and unfolding yoga as much as I love and trust the teachings of others.  And so,  they are for me, the overarching influence in my teaching, an example and support to  turn within, and go deeper, and again, deeper still, until I come to trust and source yoga from within myself.     Website
